None of this makes sense, given the number of Nokia is spouting off about today. We suspect that this bold proclamation Savander here has to do with the fuzzy definition of smartphone to include Nokia featurephones is disingenuous at least . We would love to prove wrong, but it seems safe to say that only in Nokiaworld are Finns Apple trouncing the smartphone arena.

Early attempts – woeful touchscreen phones!

Many people are under the false impression that the Nokia 5800 is the first touchscreen mobile phone Nokia have ever made. It isn’t. The mobile phones WE got were, and I use this phrase with much feeling, total, and complete garbage.

However, those unpleasant memories have now been removed because of the launch of a pair of new Nokia mobile phones, both of which have touchscreens, and both of which are much, much nicer…

Nokia 5800 – rockin’ in the free world

The first phone up is a totally new entrant into Nokia’s Xpress range of music mobile phones, the stunning Nokia 5800. This one’s quite obviously designed for music and video; you can tell by the separate XpressMedia button that opens a list of links to music, videos, the internet, and so on. Then, of course, the Nokia 5800 has a 3.2 inch touchscreen, to let you play with those different media files. Basically, the Nokia 5800 was designed to be a teeny portable jukebox and movie player, and as music phones go, this is just about the sweetest. The Nokia 5800 has also got a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA data access and sat-nav, making it a wonderful all-rounder, as well as a superb media gadget. Oh, and it has a lanyard to fasten on an imitation guitar plectrum. That’s pretty cool, that.

However, the Nokia 5800 is very definitely a mid-range phone; it isn’t, nor will it ever be, an absolute powerhouse. That role falls to a separate device…

Nokia N97 – a mobile multimedia monster!

With the Nokia 5800 all set to bring touch-based mobile phones to the mid-range market, that leaves a great big gap at the very top-end, and yes, there IS a touchscreen mobile phone waiting to be unleashed to fill that gap: the frankly awesome Nokia N97. This uses the same Symbian S60 Touch interface and packages it into the frame of a proper, full-tilt smartphone. Which means it has an even more huge, 3.5 inch screen, a slide out QWERTY keypad, and the camera now weighs in at a meaty 5 megapixels. The Nokia N97 is, in a very definite way, destined to be the new flagship Nseries mobile phone, and it really is as hyper-powered as the rumours said, with HSDPA, sat-nav, digital compass, and integrated Flash, meaning you get an internet experience that tops any other mobile phones! Put it like this: the Nokia N97 is simple incredible. It gleefully relieves itself over other mobile phones and as the Nokia 5800 angles to take over the mid-range, I’m predicting that the Nokia N97 will utterly DOMINATE the world next year!

If anything’s that going to strike on your mind after hearing the word Nokia then that’s surely a Mobile Phone. It’s a thing that none can believe that you have’nt seen it or heard about it. It’s a daily use Mobile Phone that has been seen time and again in your own hands or in the hands of other people.

Not only that the hardy sets that Nokia produces is trustworthy and has been promising till date with it’s enduring performance and quality.

History of Nokia: The company Nokia has it’s origin in the year 1865 when an Engineer Fredrik Idestam established a Paper Mill and named his company Nokia. Not only this, after the promising work force and growth of the Paper Mill , Nokia turned itself towards Rubber Industry. Finnish Rubber works established their Rubber Factory in Nokia and started using Nokia as their brand name. This time Nokia manufactured Footwears, Tyres, Raincoats, Industrial Rubber Parts etc. Gradually, the Finnish Rubber Works brought the majority of the Finnish Cable Work shares to increase it’s profits.

The Finnish Cable Works grew quickly and reached it’s height because it was a time when cables were much needed due to need in power Transmissions and Telephone Lines and Telephone Networks. This was the time when Nokia’s success in the Telecom fields were making it’s deep roots into the future telecom Industry. Nokia Cable Works Electronics Department started it’s research work in the field of Semi-Conductors which was it’s beginning in Telecommunication History of Nokia. In the 1970s Nokia even manufactured the Electro-Mechanical Analog Switches that were then used in the Telephone Exchanges all around the country.

It was during this time that Finnish Telecommunications were alllowed to to set up a network for Mobile Telephony in Cars. This was the result of creation of Nordic Mobile Telephony(NMT) in 1981. This Telephony Service created a new technology for Mobile Telephony known as GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications). This system developed then is still now used widely globally. Gradually Nokia foccussed itself towards the Telephony Products and services. It led to such an extent that during 1990s Nokia had two basic Pillars; the Telecommunication Division of Nokia and it’s Mobile telephones. Days grew by and the Nokia of 1865 grew up to be the king of Mobile Phones in the Mid 1990s.
